Mentoring Activities

We are excited to announce the HS2026 Mentorship & Networking Program, designed to foster connections across career stages within the haptics community. This program will include two complementary activities for early-career researchers.

Mentorship Lunch (Monday, March 30)

A networking luncheon where early-career researchers (i.e., postdoctoral scholars and early-career faculty) will have the opportunity to have conversations with others more advanced in the field (with a range of experience). If you are interested in participating, please complete the short application form linked below.

Student Mentorship at the Work-in-Progress (WIP) Session

Each participant in the luncheon will also mentor one or two students presenting WIP posters. Mentors will read the students’ short papers in advance and spend time with them at their posters to discuss both their research and their career goals. Interested students should complete the optional mentorship application questions in the WIP submission.

If you will be attending the conference and are interested in serving as a mentor for one or both of these activities, please email mentoring@hapticssymposium.org to let us know.

We look forward to your participation in building a strong, supportive mentorship culture at Haptics Symposium 2026!
